Most of the time, it’s especially nice when you have to leave soon. That’s exactly the feeling we’ve been experiencing these past few days and weeks. We’re enjoying our time with friends and family here in Graz so much that saying goodbye isn’t easy at all… In July, our attention was focused on the final preparations for our big bike project, alongside countless—and often tearful—goodbyes.
Even though you think you’ve thought of everything and prepared so much, there’s still a lot left to do in the end. Together with Simon from Maghanoy Wilson, we finished building our bikes—now they’re truly ready to carry us 13,000 km from North to South America. Here, too, a big thank you to Simon for his support and patience!
As we like handcrafts we screen-printed our own bags for our farewell picnic – for our first “fans” 😉. At the farewell picnic and kick-off for our trip, which took place in cooperation with the human rights organization Südwind, we cycled the first kilometer together with our friends to recharge with some really good energy for the kilometers ahead. We’re on the road as Südwind ambassadors for climate justice, and of course we’ve got plenty planned for this mission during our final weeks of preparation.
So, the bags are packed, the bikes are ready, the route for the first few days is planned, the apartment is empty, the to-do list is (almost) checked off, and we’re pretty excited. The time has come—let’s get going! Tomorrow we’re heading to Seattle!

Bon vent ! Un vent arrière qui pousse le vélo de préférence.
Merci !!!
