Connecting young people across borders

A key part of our Pacific Voices project is our collaboration with young people here in Europe and in Latin America, who are joining us virtually on our journey with their classes. Together with young people in Austria, France, and Mexico, we will work on global issues such as climate justice, human rights, and climate-friendly nutrition.

Before our departure, we visited our partners here in Austria in their classrooms and presented our project to the students. We were welcomed with many interested questions, amazed faces, and enthusiastic ideas.

Each Austrian educational institution has a Mexican partner institution that we will visit during our trip to Mexico. As Pacific Voices, we are implementing these digital educational partnerships, which are taking place as part of the Südwind project DCYDE.

In Austria, the following educational institutions are participating as partners in our project: VS Wildon (primary school), BG/BRG Leibnitz (high school), and the University of Graz. The primary school Kin-Call in Guadalajara, the University del Istmo (UNISTMO), Anáhuac University in Mexico City, and the Colegio Austriaco Mexicano are our educational partners in Mexico. The Sainte-Marie des Ursulines School in France, which we visited back in June, is also following our adventure as part of its geography class.

We find it very motivating to be able to work with so many interested, dedicated young people. Together, we want to overcome barriers, break down prejudices, and promote intercultural dialogue.
